Debate The Future Of Self Publishing @ Future Human

This month's Future Human event is themed around self-publishing. Autonomous authors Mark Edwards and Joanna Penn will be joined on stage by Henry Volans of Faber Digital to discuss the rise of the self-published author, and the possible fates of traditional publishing houses. As ever, the chat takes place at the Book Club in Shoreditch, with food and drink available throughout the show.

In a special twist, this month's event also includes a short-story-writing contest. Future Human is looking for tales based on the premise of a dollar badly spent. The top three synopses, submitted in advance, will receive free tickets to the event, where the audience will choose its favourite. That lucky writer will get a free bar tab for two, and see their work published by Bad Dollar, an innovative digital publishing outfit. Details of how to enter can be found here.

Future Human: Smash Publishing takes place downstairs at the Book Club, Leonard Street on 22 August from 7.30pm. Tickets are £10. Image from Future Human.
