Lit Preview: Vogon Poetry Slam @ Hackney Picturehouse

Vogon poetry is of course the third worst in the universe. So you might ask yourself why Whippersnapper Press is hosting not just a night of Vogon poetry, but their second night of Vogon poetry. The reason is, of course, for Towel Day, celebrating the late lamented Douglas Adams.

There are two categories: nerdcore and so-bad-it's-good. It's open mic, so sign up on the night. But if you hear the name Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings called, excuse yourself and go to the loo. Where you should immediately stuff your ears with toilet paper. If, on the other hand, hoopy frood Jay Foreman makes another appearance (like this one at last year's event), you're in for a treat.

Vogon Poetry Slam starts at 7.30pm on 25 May at the Hackney Picturehouse Attic, 270 Mare Street. Tickets are £5 / £3 in costume or with towel.
