Wednesday: Literary Death Match returns to Concrete (8.15pm, £6 / £8). Pugilists are Nick Taussig, Nicola Carley, Nat Segnit and Naomi Wood; passing judgement are Audrey Gillan, Mark Billingham and Arjun Basu.

G.R.E.Ed.S hosts Jawdance at Rich Mix, with guests Lennie St Luce, Realitie, Zorras and Nathan Thompson (7.30pm, free).

Thursday: To celebrate the Firestation Book Swap's second birthday it's free entry for all! (Still bake them a birthday cake though; they'll like that.) Scott Pack and Robert Hudson host, Jane Harris and Sjon are on the sofa (7.45pm).

Alfredo Cordal, Kavita Jindal, N. S. Thompson and Heidi Williamson are the poets at Lauderdale House (8pm, £5 / £3).

Friday: Adele Ward hosts Friday Night Writers at Swiss Cottage Library, with Adam Wyeth and Declan Ryan - plus open mic (6pm, free).

Saturday: Children's illustrator Zehra Hicks is at Wood Green's Big Green Bookshop reading and designing toothbrushes (11.30am, free).

Sunday: Don't know. Stupid Edinburgh Book Festival. (Suggestions in the comments?)

Monday: Ditto.

Edit: Found something! Martina Evans, Vesna Maric, Sjon (we met this guy recently. He looks like an Icelandic Alan Bennett. This is a good thing) and Jan van Mersbergen are celebrating contemporary European literature at the Sugar Lounge (7.30pm, free).

Tuesday: Chinese authors Bi Feiyu and Chan Koonchung are in conversation with Lucy Popescu at the Free Word Centre, with English PEN (6.30pm, £5 / £3).

Scandinavian crime sensation Jo Nesbo is at the Prince Charles Cinema (thanks to Waterstone's Piccadilly) from 7.30pm (£10).

Sue Frumin and CN Lester talk (and sing) about wotever sex at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern (7pm, £7).
