Future sociologists may find it interesting that, in the early 21st century, the success of an event is judged by how many (or few) crimes are recorded; still, the 2010 edition of Europe’s biggest street party has been branded just that, after reported crime fell by more than a third. Police arrested nearly 300 people over the two-day festival, mostly for drug-related offences, although two people were stabbed and four arrested for carrying firearms.
