The Shard of Glass at London Bridge continues its heavenly climb. The tower, set to be the largest in the EU on completion in 2012, is now roughly the same height as neighbouring Guy's Hospital. Its recent spurt in growth will now slow while the steel work catches up with the thrusting concrete core. Lofty though the tower already appears, it's not even half way to its eventual 310 metres.
