Okay ladies, you've probably heard all of the reasons you should cycle. And while getting exercise and saving money on your commute are attractive incentives, it doesn't mean getting started is actually easy. For those of you that have dabble with the idea of taking to two wheels, Cyclodelic's Girls Guide to Cycling may provide the push you need. Over the course of three days, starting Friday the 9th, Cyclodelic will set up shop at the Cycling Show at Earl's Court, with the goal of teaching women everything they need to know about bicycling, whether competing or commuting. There will also be women-only maintenance sessions for the self sufficient (and it's definitely worth knowing how to adjust your own brakes).

Friday's workshop will focus on commuting, including the best routes to take, what clothes to wear so you can arrive at work office-ready, even make-up tips. Saturday's focus will be competative cycling and will bring in stars of the track, road, triathalon, and mountain, including Britain's golden girls Nicole Cooke and Victoria Pendleton. Finishing off the festivities on Saturday will be a family-focussed session discussing day trips and holidays where mums can take their cycles and their sprogs.

The Cyclodelic team will also be on hand to help you find the right bike to fit your needs and customise it to fit your personality.

Cycle Show 2009: Earls Court 1, 9 and 10 October from 10am-6pm, 11 October from 10am-5pm. Tickets are £11.50 in advance, available at www.cycleshow.co.uk, or £14.50 on the door.
