Around 80 fact fanciers packed into Ray's Jazz Bar at Foyles last night for the Londonist quiz. The evening of London trivia was affably fronted by Mr Charles Dickens, as portrayed by Christopher West.

The calibre of question was fearsome, to say the least. Punters were asked such posers as the location of central London's only statue of Henry VIII, and to identify a map of Clapham North with all the street names removed. Do you know where you can find a two storey, 15-tonne statue of a naked Napoleon Bonaparte?

Congratulations to the Mayfair Mavises, whose score of 46.5 out of 60 won the day, and a goody bag of London treats. And a special mention for the Rockin' Rollers whose score of just 14 scooped them the booby prize (a hideous rubber duck painted to look like a black cab).

Thank you to everyone who took part - we raised £150 for the London Air Ambulance. And a special thank you to the staff of Foyles who made the evening so pleasurable. Please be sure to check out Ray's Jazz Cafe on their first floor next time you're passing by.

We'll be back with a new quiz soon (probably January). In the meantime, you can catch our compere running his own Twist With Dickens quiz at the Barrow Boy and Banker of 12 October.
