London: Population Zero
Regent Street, minus several thousand shoppers.

South Bank. No humans. No zombies.

While the rest of us were ripping open the wrapping paper, like so many festive zombies yank-lacerating the bindings of our captive and pliant gifts, blogger IanVisits was working his way around the streets of London, reliving a very different zombie experience. Any Londoner familiar with 28 Days Later will never forget the opening 20 minutes of that film, where the protagonist tours a lorn and deserted capital to the morbidly powerful tunes of Godspeed You Black Emperor (also used yesterday, curiously, for the Beeb's adaptation of The 39 Steps). Ian found a similar desolation during his wanders round town, as these photos attest. A London without its buzz.

Check out 68 such photos in Ian's Flickr photoset, and make sure you bookmark or RSS his blog and events calendar, which are two of the best resources in London.
