Digital Cities At New London Architecture

NLAdigital.jpg

A new exhibition at NLA looks at the way computer visualisation is assisting architects and city planners in London. Highlights include Terry Farrell's mindmapping of the built environment, the modelling of cities in Second Life, and swooping three-dimensional reconstructions of the city. While visually arresting, the exhibition suffers from a lack of hands-on features. Several monitors were displaying error messages, and poor lighting left us squinting at information panels. It's not NLA's finest show, but at least there's the ever-impressive non-digital model of London in the foyer. Digital Cities runs till January 17.
