New Daily Roast Carvery at the Landmark’s Cellars Restaurant & Bar
Londonist 10.27.08 - Cellars Restaurant & Bar

Oak wood panelling, leather armchairs, mahogany tables, fireplaces. Sounds like the right setting for, oh let’s see … leg of lamb with rosemary jus, herb and lemon baby chicken with tarragon jus, sirloin with red wine sauce and Yorkshire pudding, pork loin with crackling and Bramley apple sauce or darne of salmon, but only if served and carved from a silver trolley at one’s table.

What Londonist is pontificating about is the Cellars Restaurant & Bar’s newly introduced daily roast menu offered Monday through Friday from noon to 3pm for £16.95 per person. We swung by this gentlemanly resto (located at Marylebone’s five-star stunner, The Landmark London hotel, where we wish we’d had the time for a quick post-lunch cocktail in the hotel’s gorgeous Winter Garden) last Thursday for a taste. As the roasts alternate daily, we arrived for the pork loin … which was fine by us! If the other roasts are anywhere near as satisfactory as our meal, then we reckon lunch at the Cellars is well worth keeping in mind next time you need a meaty lunch in a refined setting.
