Londonist Gets Man-Pampered

In the wildest dream that Londonist never had, one of our correspondents received a straight razor shave from our facial hair expert, Francisco Jinoco of Sharps Barber and Shop, followed by a cocktail in a 17th century hall lined with Corinthian marbled columns and packed with all sorts of hoity-toity folks while Depeche Mode’s Just Can’t Get Enough blares from some über deejay’s cockpit of cool.

Well, that’s what happened last night as we tagged along to the Gibson Hall launch party of Smirnoff Black Boutique Barbers luxury men's grooming service (no, we’re not kidding). Yep, starting the 6th of November, Hugo Boss shops in London will offer “gentlemen the chance to enjoy a relaxing traditional shave followed by a Smirnoff Black cocktail.” The shave-n-chugs’ll be happening at these Hugo Boss shops on the following November and December dates:

- Liverpool Street, 6-8th

- Queen Street, 13-15th

- Canary Wharf, 20-22nd

- Sloane Square, 27-29th

- Regent Street, 4-6th (December)

- White City, 10-13th

To book your 15 minutes of “He Time” (no we didn’t make that up but really wish we had), call 0793 126 5015. Such man-pampering will set ya back £15. Based upon our correspondent's impressions, there are far worse ways to blow your quid, and this unique service might be just the thing for that tosser in your life who has everything but still expects a gift. Besides, for what some London joints are charging for cocktails these days, ya might as well walk away from your drink with a baby’s butt smooth face in addition to a bit of a buzz.
