Consolidating Curry
Tiffinbites

Londonist just got word that Gourmet Restaurant Group, owners of the Tiffinbites brand, recently acquired Indian take-away chain the Bombay Bicycle Club. The deal coincides with the acquisition of Indian food and restaurant group Vama (which consists of a fine dining resto on Kings Road as well as large scale catering operations) and makes Gourmet Restaurant Group the largest Indian restaurant group in the UK. According to GRG’s CEO and founder, Jamal Hirani, the company’s mission is “to give diners the opportunity to experience authentic Indian food of the best quality at whatever their price point, and the acquisition today completes the Group’s offering and ensures our presence in all areas of the Indian dining market.” The acquisition of the Bombay Bicycle Club adds three restaurants and fifteen delivery kitchen outlets to the group’s portfolio.

All we gotta say is that we hope they don’t mess about with our lunch at Tiffinbites or takeout from the Bombay Bicycle Club. We’ve been pleased with both.
