This pub has been voted by our readers as one of the best pubs in Wandsworth.
This place is a member of the Geronimo chain, so you kind of know what to expect in advance. Sharp interior decoration, well-drilled staff, and a cosy mix of drinking and dining. The East Hill is an archetypal version of this formula, right down to the olive paint scheme, and we like it.
We have a choice of four draught ales, mostly plucked from local stock like Wandle and Twickenham. The wine list is mighty impressive — for example, 15 different reds to choose from. The food menu, in common with most Geronimo places, comprises a best-of-British selection. We particularly liked the menu card with a hand-drawn map showing where the ingredients are sourced.
Our pub tour visited on a Tuesday evening and found the place bustling to the point where we couldn't get a table. We can only imagine how popular the place is on a Friday. Oh, and the toilets are a treat, with a unisex area decorated with tiny dog wallpaper. Woof.
