There's A 25km Long Tunnel Being Dug Beneath Your Feet

A whopping 65 metres below ground, a giant tunnel is emerging. And no, it's not Crossrail. Lying at 25km long, the Thames Tideway Tunnel, also affectionately known as the Super Sewer, will siphon off masses of the capital's sewage to prevent it from landing in the River Thames. Hoorah for a cleaner London river! The only drawback? We still have five years to wait, as this beast isn't due for completion until 2024.

Visit the Thames Tideway Tunnel website to find out more about the project and its development.
