This Is The New Face Of The Night Tube

We rarely accuse TfL of monkeying around, but in this case we feel vindicated.

Meet Eddie — the face of the second night tube pocket map. The zoologists among you may note that Eddie is a gorilla, not a monkey, but gorilla puns are harder to do. He's the creation of London-based Filipino artist Pio Abad. Although the artist's primate painting may appear a flight of fantasy, it's actually based on fact. A stuffed gorilla in a Hawaiian shirt is one of the stranger things to turn up in TfL's lost property office. Says Abad:

Coming across Eddie amidst the vast collection of lost items, it was very hard to resist making the Hawaiian shirt wearing gorilla the subject of my tube map. I can't think of a better companion to help you find your way around London at night.

Take a closer look at Eddie's loud shirt, and you'll notice it features many of the colours of the tube line. We are slightly concerned about the boozy theme though... doesn't Eddie know alcohol's been banned on the tube since 2008?
