Londoners Will Be Offered Free E-Bike Rides To Vaccine Appointments

A leading electric-assist bike hire provider has pledged to provide Londoners with free rides to and from their COVID-19 vaccine appointments.

Lime has teamed up with e-cargo and passenger bike service Pedal Me to launch 'Ride to Recovery' with the aim of improving access to the capital's vaccination centres. Per the press release, every Londoner who downloads Lime or Pedal Me app will get a special code entitling them to four free rides for use when getting their jabs.

You can then choose to either cycle independently to your local vaccination centre on a Lime e-bike, or put your feet up and get a socially-distanced lift from one of Pedal Me's riders.

Over 40% of London households are carless and, with the government urging us to avoid public transport wherever possible in order to limit the spread of the virus, alternative travel options are certainly welcome, particularly if they're free.  Just remember to take care if you're new to e-bikes. When we tried Lime out, starting the engine was reminiscent using a mushroom boost in Mario Kart.
