In the past 13 years, WrapUp London has collected over 200,000 unused winter coats, distributing them to people who need them.
Want to be part of the wonderfully warm initiative this year?
HandsOn London's volunteer-led event returns this November — once again asking for Londoners to sift through their wardrobes, dig out old coats, and donate them at designated collection points located across the city.
To begin with, you'll be able to donate your coat at these tube stations from 7-9 November 2023 (7am to 11am).

- Liverpool Street
- London Bridge
- Moorgate
- Waterloo
You'll also be able to leave it at one of more than 40 drop off points around London: find your nearest on the WrapUp London website.
Looking to volunteer? Team slots have already been filled, but WrapUp London tells us there is always room for an individual to volunteer to collect coats at one of the tube stations (7-9 November). All the other drop off points are already staffed, but they could do with a few more individual volunteers at the central sorting hub at Morden Safestore. This winter will be especially tough for many — what with the continuing cost of living crisis, and energy bills still high. The simple gesture of decluttering your wardrobe could make someone's day — or even go further. As WrapUp London say, "a coat doesn't only provide warmth, it is often a gateway for someone to access services to help them get back on their feet."
