A light and sound show comes to UCL's Wilkins Building in February, as part of the university's 200th anniversary celebrations.

UCL Illuminated sees lights and animations projected onto the building (which is just a two-minute walk from Euston Square station), accompanied by music in a 12-minute show. The spectacular takes visitors back to 1826, chronicling 200 years of UCL history, paying homage to notable figures from Nobel Prize winners to Oscar winners, and finishing with a look at the university's future.

Everyone's invited, whether you've a connection to UCL or not, and once the show's over, you're invited inside the Wilkins Building to learn more about the university's founding in exhibition Two Centuries Here. Photography, objects, artefacts, stories, dialogue and interactive installations explore how it began as a small community of intellectuals, and offers an insight into the research happening there today.

Back outside, a range of food trucks and pop-ups offer refreshments, and student performances offer entertainment throughout the evening.

UCL Illuminated takes place on 11, 12 and 13 February 2026. Tickets are £5 each, including a UCL200 souvenir gift, and are available now. Proceeds from tickets support UCL200 Scholarships, and under-16s can attend for free, when accompanied by a paying adult.
