A dazzling display of Ramadan lights returns to the West End in February.

For the fourth year running, Coventry Street near Piccadilly Circus will be festooned with illuminations heralding Ramadan, a worldwide month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community involvement by the Muslim community.

Though the switch-on isn't usually advertised to the general public, once they're on, the lights — a display of over 30,000 LED bulbs, inspired by Islamic geometric patterns and the celestial symbols of Ramadan — can be enjoyed by everyone for over a month, illuminated from 5pm-5am each night over the Ramadan and Eid period, from now until 24 March 2026.

As Ramadan comes to an end on 18 March, the lights will shift from wishing Londoners a 'Happy Ramadan' to a 'Happy Eid'.

Accompanying events include a Shared Light Exhibition at Zedwell Piccadilly Circus, and an Iftar Food Trail; more details here (click the interactive map at the bottom for details of the food trail)..

2026 marks the fourth year that London has strung up Ramadan lights.

London's first Ramadan lights — the first aerial lights of their kind in Western Europe — were switched on by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan in 2023. They've been a welcome staple of the winter season since.
