Hackney Revealed: Free Illumination Arts Festival Lights Up East London

A brand new illuminated arts festival comes to Hackney this winter, plastering the area in light projections and art installations.

Hackney Revealed takes place over three weeks in November and December, showcasing the work of local artists and creatives. 250 local people collaborated with 12 professional artists to create installations which will be on display both in and outside local landmarks, including Hackney Town Hall, St Augustine’s Tower, Hackney Church and the Tudor era Sutton House.

Suspended origami works feature in Paper Gardens

Highlights include:

  • Revealed: Colourful, moving projections beamed onto the exterior of Hackney Church, to kick start the festival. 15-16 November.
  • Paper Gardens: A paper wonderland featuring suspended origami lanterns and butterflies, located at London College of Fashion on Mare Street. 18 November-8 December.
  • Civic Stage: Colourful projections of Chinese lion dancers, carnival groups and circus performers, shone through the windows of Hackney Town Hall. 23-25 November.

Full programme available on Hackney Revealed website, with more details to be revealed soon.

Hackney Revealed takes place 15 November-8 December 2022 at venues around Hackney. All events are free, no booking required.
