This is a sponsored article on behalf of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

How's this for a fantastic day out in London? Take in the sights of Hyde Park in the autumn, while raising money to help build the new Children's Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

This is RBC Race for the Kids, a fun run on Saturday 11 October where the focus is very much on 'fun'. As well as running through Hyde Park, surrounded by the leaves in their finest autumnal hues, the fundraising event includes a family-friendly festival for participants. It's a jam-packed day of live music and entertainment from the Butlin's team, games, tasty treats, face painting and much more.

Not a runner? Not a problem! The beauty of RBC Race for the Kids is that it's suitable for all ages and abilities, whether you're looking to set a new 5k PB or just fancy a social stroll with family and friends. You can choose between a 2k or 5k route, and complete it however you like, at your own pace — you'll even receive a wooden medal as you cross the finish line. Running, jogging, walking, wheeling or scooting are all encouraged on the completely accessible route, and the whole family can take part, with kids aged 16 and under going free!

If you can't get to Hyde Park on the day, you can still join from anywhere by taking part in RBC Race for the Kids at Home, whether it’s around your neighbourhood or in your local park, wherever you live.

As for the money raised at RBC Race for the Kids, every penny will help to build the future of children's cancer care. Over the last 15 years, this event has raised more than £11 million for the children and families at GOSH. This year, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity hopes to raise over £1 million to help build the world-leading new Children's Cancer Centre and save more children's lives — but they need your help make it happen. There's no minimum fundraising pledge to take part, with participants encouraged to set their own targets and help raise as much money as possible.

The new Children's Cancer Centre will not only be a home for breakthrough treatments, but will be so much more than a hospital — a place that's a school, a playground and a garden, giving young patients the best childhood possible and helping families stay together through the toughest times.

So what are you waiting for? Book your slot on this fantastic fun day out this autumn, and help change the lives of families facing cancer.

RBC Race for the Kids 2025 take place on Saturday 11 October. Reserve your place now and start fundraising for this important cause.
