Fulham's Former Underground Station Has Been Transformed Into A Delicious Food Hall

This is a sponsored article on behalf of Market Halls.

Once upon a time, this former Underground station was thronging with commuters. These days, it still is, but for a rather different reason...

Built in 1880, the Grade II listed building has stood empty and unloved for six years, replaced by a modern equivalent next door. That's until Market Halls came along, and transformed it into a delicious food hall — news that is sure to delight foodies and train nerds alike (and isn't that every Londoner?).

It's the first of three new locations for the Market Halls brand, with Victoria and the West End completing the lineup later this year. Far from your usual bland food courts, each brings a once-loved space back to life with restaurant quality food in a market environment.

In Fulham's case, that means the chance to explore a piece of the area's railway history. Nine food kitchens line the station's delicately restored ticket hall, which still bears plenty of original railway insignia — from ticket booths to iconic 'TO THE TRAINS' signage.

But that's enough about the building. What about the food?

We're talking award-winning, buttermilk chicken from Butchies. Charcoal-cooked tacos from the dynamic duo behind Breddos Tacos. Stone-baked, double-fermented pizzas from Yard Sale Pizza. Feel-good flavours and California vibes from Ahi Poké...

There's a coffee shop, deli, and fully-stocked bar too — jam-packed full of the best British craft beers and spirits.

Hungry? Market Halls Fulham is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. There's even a dedicated children's play area — great for occupying the little ones — and later this year, a private event space, fitness studio and roof terrace will join the line-up.

Now there's somewhere we wouldn't mind waiting for a train.

You can find Market Halls Fulham at 472 Fulham Road, SW6 1BY. Nearest station is Fulham Broadway. Open Monday-Saturday 8am-11pm, Sunday 10am-10.30pm.
