Fancy a free peddle on the water?

If you're in the vicinity of Stratford this Thursday (24 July), a free ride along the river could be on the cards.

To promote the launch of Side Quests, a website from Santander Cycles/TfL which suggests new, randomly-generated London itineraries to try on two wheels — free water bikes rides are being, well, peddled on a stretch of the WaterWorks River.

If you fancy taking to the water (and it promises be a great way to see the various new East Bank buildings amassing on the water's edge, not to mention the London Stadium and ArcelorMittal Orbit), just show up at Tallow Bridge in front of London College of Fashion in Stratford between 12pm-5pm.

Each water bike jaunt lasts 20 minutes.

There are only two water bikes, and that each one accommodates two people (so bring a friend along, unless you want to pedal out into a mass of water with a stranger). Each water bike jaunt lasts 20 minutes. Free swan pedalo rides are also available.
