20 cultural events — featuring theatre, dance, music and art — unfold around Elephant and Castle this June, for Creative Elephant.

Among highlights: a night of discussion and music centred on the area's cultural, social commercial and political scene; LCC's 2019 degree shows; three plays at Southwark Playhouse; an exhibition of artworks by the late Ken Kiffs; and street dance classes from Superarts Academy.

Many events are free (although booking ahead is recommended).

Key organiser, Gill Henderson said:

We want members of the public to explore the wide range of venues we have here, be the first to spot the rising stars across theatre, film, music, design, dance, and perhaps even surprise themselves.

Creative Elephant aims to show people that Elephant and Castle is a destination, not just a route.
