Brompton Cemetery springs into life with its annual open day.
Though you can visit the magnificent Victorian cemetery any time of the year, in September — as the last drops of summer are squeezed out over the grand, tree-lined boulevard — an annual open day welcomes a flurry of free activities and entertainment.
This year's Friends of Brompton Cemetery Open Day is on Sunday 6 September 2026, featuring:
🪦 Tours of the cemetery and its catacombs, running throughout the day
🪦 Birds of Prey behind the Chapel, with talks at 11.30am and 2.30pm
🪦 Children's storytelling and face painting
🪦 Stalls selling local honey, handmade soaps, jewellery, clothes, toys, books, paintings and more
🪦 A chance to meet Chelsea Pensioners
🪦 Children's activities courtesy of the Royal Parks Learning Team
🪦 Stalls selling ice cream, samosas, crepes, cakes and more
If you're unable to make this open day, Brompton Cemetery plays a key role in hosting the ever-popular London Month of the Dead, happening a little later on in the year.
