Tickets for the 2019 Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival 2019 are on sale, and details of this year's programme have been announced.
The Bonfire Night event takes place across two evenings, Friday 1 and Saturday 2 November 2019, with live music and entertainment each night, and 100,000 people expected to attend across both days.
Fireworks may be the last thing on your mind when you've got comedy, cabaret, live music, film screenings, ice skating, street food and a beer festival to choose from.
Retro funfair rides and bars fill the family area, with comedians and cabaret acts taking to the stage at Café de Pally (see what they did there?). Roaming film company Luna Cinema takes over the venue's Victorian theatre for screenings of family friendly classics and horror films. Ally Pally's ice rink is open throughout, too.
Food is served up in the StreatLife Village, with all manner of street food traders represented, and former Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank and legendary music producer Jazzie B play live sets nearby. Wash it all down with supplies from the UK’s largest German Bier Festival, and then take your place to watch the fireworks.
New for 2019 is a 'Pagan-inspired firelighting ritual', culminating in the lighting of a 30ft effigy on top of the bonfire. We don't yet know what — or whom — the effigy will represent, but it's designed in a collaboration between young people and local artists
Each evening culminates in that all important firework display, with pyrotechnics against the backdrop of the London skyline, set to a soundtrack curated by Rob da Bank.
Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival takes place on 1 and 2 November 2019. Earlybird tickets cost £1.50 (child)-£9.50 (adult). Bier Festival and ice skating tickets need to be bought separately.
