A free festival takes places beneath the elevated tracks of the DLR this May.

Adventures on the Underline — happening Saturday 14 May — will utilise the spaces underneath and around the stations at South Quay and Crossharbour on the Isle of Dogs to showcase circus performances from Upswing; parkour demos and workshops from Parkour Generations; a live music stage; street food; a photography exhibition curated by local historian Mike Seaborne; plus the chance to grab a can of spray paint and get involved with a community street art mural.

Meanwhile, sound artist Lucia Scazzocchio from Social Broadcasts will be going around, recording sounds, speaking to people about the DLR, and gathering thoughts and ideas for how the 'DLR Underline' space might be used in the future.

The festival is promoting the DLR Underline Activation, which recognises the potential of the space under the train tracks in this area to be developed for public use.

The one-day-only festival takes place on Saturday 14 May from 11am-7pm, and is free to attend. There's more info on the mini-site. The best way to get there is probably... yup, DLR.
