Actually looks a bit like a robot bishop...

Maybe last night (17 Aug) you noticed that The Shard was looking particularly patriotic?

Yes, that's right, it's a luminescent show of support for the England women's football team — who play in the World Cup Final this Sunday — and you've got three more chances to see The Shard lit up like this (after dark on 18, 19 and 20 August). Fingers crossed that on the final night, the lights will actually be celebrating the Lionesses' victory... altogether now: "Three (million) lights on a Shard... pointy thing still gleaming..."

Yeah, it definitely looks like a bishop's mitre.

For previous footie tournaments, the London Eye has also switched on the ol' red and white lights, so we wouldn't be surprised to see that again. Maybe the BT Tower and NatWest Tower will get in on the action too. Oh, and by the way, if you like England flags, you'll bloody love Bermondsey's Kirby Estate.
