Anyone for tennis padel?

The Mexican tennis-squash hybrid is all the rage right now with everyone from David Beckham to Eva Longoria said to be addicted to this fast-pace doubles game.

If you're looking to play, you can find a padel court in central London this August — directly behind the Marble Arch. Pop-up Padel at Marble Arch is in situ from until 26 August, the court available to hire daily between 7am and 8pm (although by the looks of it, slots are going fast).

The game's similar to doubles tennis, but with a smaller court — plus walls you can bounce the ball off.

It costs £40 to hire the court for 60 minutes, and before you shout "you cannot be serious!" that's for four people, bats and balls included. It's certainly a different way to spend an hour in town, although if this heatwave continues, you'll probably be searching for a shower immediately afterwards.
