IT'S STAYING HOME!
After yet another edge-of-the-seat 'we're-definitely-going-to-lose-aren't-we?' tussle on Sunday, the Lionesses vanquished Spain in a penalty shootout thriller, to retain the title of UEFA European Women's Champions.
The celebrations have already begun — and tomorrow (Tuesday 29 July), there's a chance to see the heroes of the moment, as they come to central London for a public victory parade. Here are the details:
When is the Lionesses victory parade?
The Lionesses (and their redoubtable manager Sarina Wiegman) will process from the north-eastern end of The Mall in an open top bus, starting at 12.10pm on Tuesday 29 July. The bus will reach the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace at approximately 12.30pm, where there'll be a staged ceremony.
What's happening at the ceremony?
Hosted by former Lioness Alex Scott, the event will feature music from the Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines Portsmouth and the Central Band of the Royal Air Force (a Sweet Caroline singalong is guaranteed) with tournament highlights shown on big screens. Sarina Wiegman and the Lionesses will then take to the stage for a special European Championship winners trophy lift presentation.

Is the event free?
Absolutely — and it's also expected to be busy (especially given it's the summer holidays). Arrive nice and early, bring water and suncream. And perhaps — given the forecast — a waterproof too.
Are the celebrations on TV too?
Yes. If you can't make it into central London, you can watch the parade and ceremony on BBC, ITV and Sky between 12pm and 1pm.
