It's all about the canal-side seating. The Union has one of the best waterside drinking areas in London, a wooden terrace with over 20 tables overlooking the Grand Union Canal. It's marvellous.
The pub is also perfectly charming on the inside, with huge windows overlooking the busy Great Western Road (everything has a large adjective in these parts). It's a somewhat awkward space with a small floor plan, and it can get a bit cramped when the place is busy. Downstairs, a small dining room offers cosier surrounds.
This is a Fuller's pub, offering the usual range of drinks and food.
