Part of our Best Pubs in London microsite. Is your local listed?
Perched on the major Grosvenor Road, yet somehow feeling tucked away, the Grosvenor isn't among Westminster's most famous drinking spots. Yet its 'traditional British pub' vibes would be a delight to any tourist who wanders over this way.

The interior hasn't been modernised since... well, ever. Carpeted throughout and decorated with model ships, this place has a look all of its own. The nautical references are apposite. The pub is not only a stone's throw from the Thames, but also right next to the buried River Tyburn (which we're reliably informed could be seen gushing past above ground until relatively recent times).

As you'd expect from a traditional pub, this is not the place for your fancy craft ales. A couple of casks are available, though nothing more exotic than Doom Bar. The pub puts on food, has jazz sessions and — vanishing species — a pool table.

The back room is among the cosiest in London. We could spend all day in here.
