Wood Street, in upper Walthamstow, is a delightful street populated by colourful murals and idiosyncratic shops. There's nowhere more fitting for a pub like The Duke to call home, a pub that's flush with neon lights and old-school Americana. This is a place to have fun.

There are a multitude of ways to have fun at The Duke. There's the pinball machine. The pool table. The darts board. The late nights on weekends. The photobooth. The arcade machine. Whatever you're in the mood for.

The only downside on our visit was the range of beer on offer. On paper it was varied enough, but so many taps were off, that there wasn't much left to choose from. We hope this isn't a regular occurrence.

We spent the entirety of our time at The Duke in the garden facing the street. Main road beer gardens aren't always ideal but Wood Street is a quiet enough place that there's never too much traffic to get in the way of the vibes emanating from the road.
