A 24-hour 'Pianothon' is taking place at Liverpool Street station this Friday and Saturday.

From 6am on Friday 11 April to 6am on Saturday 12 April, a piano on the concourse at the east London terminus will host talented artists (belting out classical, jazz, R&B and indie hits), celebrity appearances and an open session, in which anyone, regardless of talent, can take to the keys (better get honing your Chopsticks).

The Pianothon is promoting the third series of Channel 4 TV show The Piano.

Free for anyone to watch (no ticket necessary), what is being billed as 'the UK's first 24-hour pianothon' heralds the launch of series three of the popular Channel 4 show, The Piano, which sees members of the public tickle the ivories at train stations around the UK, often with emotional backstories behind their talent.

The Pianothon will also be streamed live on Channel 4's YouTube channel, while the new series airs on Sunday 13 April at 9pm.
