Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. Massive Attack's Blue Lines. What else? Oh yeah, the Beatles' Abbey Road. All recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in NW8 — alongside a slew of other albums, singles and soundtracks.
Usually you need to be a pretty darned accomplished musician (or Ed Sheeran) to waltz into the world-famous music studios, but now there's a rare chance to step foot in Studio Two courtesy of its 'Stories in Sound' tours.
On 2, 3 and 4 August 2024, music experts Kevin Ryan and Brian Kehew lead lucky guests into Studio Two, spinning anecdotes and facts about the many, many recording sessions that've taken place here from the likes of Shirley Bassey, Elton John, Ella Fitzgerald, Kate Bush, Oasis, Radiohead, Muse, Adele and Stormzy. Each tour also features a live performance from a string quartet, guitarist and a pianist — playing a soundtrack of popular, classical and film music that conjures up the storied history of Abbey Road Studios, which dates back almost 100 years.

And now here comes the caveat: these tours cost some serious money — we're talking £231 (or £189 early bird tickets), which is more than you'll fork out for some music festivals. You can, however, sign up for a live streamed tour on 10 August, although this will still set you back £21.
