Gutted there's no Glastonbury this year? If you're in need of a music festival fix, you're in luck — there's a free one taking place in central London this summer, and everyone's invited.

Live rock and pop music for all ages and eras comes to the intimate setting of Norfolk Square Gardens, right next to Paddington station, performed by cover bands of some of the biggest artists.

The Alter Eagles

Paddington Covers takes place on the last Friday in June, July and August. The first event, on 29 June, has a line-up that's already got us singing along. The Dolly Show will be paying tribute to Dolly Parton, while The Alter Eagles have punters checking into Hotel California. The aptly named Spice Girls 2 recreate Spice Girls tunes that make you zig-a-zah-ah all over the place, and Wrong Jovi make sure you Have A Nice Day.

Each of these bands will be performing two sets throughout the afternoon and evening, and if their playing is half as good as their punning, we're in for one heck of a show.

Kids are welcome too — there's children's entertainment going on throughout the festival, as well as food stalls for when you get peckish. Bring a blanket to sprawl out on, or get there early to bag yourself a free deckchair. And for those of us who are Working 9 To 5? The concert goes on until 7.45pm, meaning there's plenty of time to head there straight from the office and join in, cold beer in hand.

Paddington Covers takes place Fridays 29 June, 27 July and 31 August 2018, from noon. Tickets are completely free. For advanced bookings, click here.
