Lufthansa is putting on 14 special Oktoberfest services from London Stansted to Germany.

Oktoberfest — the biggest beer festival in the world — takes over the beautiful German city of Munich this September and October. And if you're a Londoner looking to get hopped up on the action, there are plenty more flights to take you there — thanks to Lufthansa's series of special Oktoberfest services.

That's right, due to un-beer-lieveable demand, the German flag carrier is putting on 14 Oktoberfest flights between London Stansted and Munich, from 19 September to 5 October. Catching the first flight will ensure you're in Munich to raise an iconic masskrug (a whopping one-litre stein) at Oktoberfest's opening ceremony on Saturday 20 September.

Each Airbus A320 flight departs at 7.50pm from London Stansted (easily reachable from central London, including via Stansted Express), arriving in the Bavarian capital at 10.30pm local time — that's just one hour, 40 minutes! To paraphrase Frank Sinatra, "If you can use some exotic booze, there's a beer hall in nearby Munich..."

Welcome aboard!

With the added bonus of an 'Oktoberfest Delight' deal (that's a bottle of Paulaner and a traditional laugenbretzel) your Oktoberfest experience starts the moment the plane takes off!

Says Simon Gorrighan, London Stansted's Aviation Director, "Oktoberfest dates back to 1810 and is considered the largest beer festival in the world with over six million visitors each year, so we know flights will be in high demand.

"We're delighted to once again partner with Lufthansa to offer a seamless connection to Munich for the festivities and proud to be working with the German carrier for an authentic German experience."

London Stansted is the UK airport with the most scheduled connections to Europe, offering over 200 destinations worldwide.

This year's Oktoberfest runs from Saturday 20 September to Sunday 5 October at Theresienwiese Park in Munich, offering visitors the chance to celebrate Bavarian culture, tuck into traditional foods (hello bretzels and bratwurst) get up on the benches to dance to live oompah music, and sample many of region's most popular beers — most importantly the six official Oktoberfest ones, all brewed in Munich. It doesn't get fresher than that.

Your Oktoberfest starts the minute you leave the ground!

Of course, Munich is not just all about the beer. While over there, you can also grab a bite to eat at the historic, open-air Viktualienmarkt; explore the Deutsches Museum — the world's largest museum of science and technology; or catch a Bayern Munich thriller in one of the local bars. Now that's a city break worth raising a masskrug to!
