It's the most wonderful time of year at The Waldorf Hilton, the glamorous hotel located close to Covent Garden in the West End. It's pulling out all the stops for the festivities, whether you're after a pre-Christmas get-together, Christmas Day dinner, or somewhere to see in the new year. Here's what's on offer:
The Waldorf's Christmas Tea Dance
The Waldorf has always danced. It first offered Latin dance classes in 1910, and it once held daily tea dances. Step into that history yourself this Christmas, at the Waldorf Tea Dance, on 8 December. Enjoy the Be Our Guest A Winter’s Tale themed afternoon tea (more on which below), along with live music from a live band, while you dance the afternoon away to ballroom classics — ideal for getting you into the festive spirit.
'Be Our Guest', A Winter's Tale Afternoon Tea
Planning a festive catch-up with friends or family? Why not do so over The Waldorf Hilton's charming 'Be Our Guest', A Winter's Tale Afternoon Tea? The menu, thoughtfully curated by Executive Chef Luke Rayment-Blakey, is inspired by La Belle et La Bête, a fairytale written and first published by French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve in 1740. It was, of course, re-told by Walt Disney Feature Animation as Beauty and the Beast, and this afternoon tea menu playfully incorporates some of its much-loved scenes and characters with a Waldorf twist.
A children's version is also available, so the whole family can enjoy the experience together. Priced from £59 per adult/£35 per child.
Festive dining at Homage
In charge of organising a Christmas party? Whether it's small and intimate, or large and extravagant, The Waldorf Hilton has you covered. Various lunch and dinner dining packages are available at Homage Restaurant between 21 November and 23 December. Choose between a two- or three-course menu, with dishes including traditional roast bronze turkey breast, confit leg stuffing, turkey sauce and all the trimmings, or beef fillet, braised feather blade, smoked potato, root vegetables, and red wine sauce. The rather tempting dessert options include milk chocolate and hazelnut mousse, and cinnamon and ginger cheesecake.
Both the two- and three-course options include half a bottle of wine per person, plus tea, coffee and mince pies. A 10-person minimum applies for Homage's festive dinners. Email [email protected] for further information and to get your Christmas party booked in.
Christmas Dinner at The Waldorf Hilton
In London on Christmas Day itself? Homage at the Waldorf Hilton opens for a timeless Christmas celebration on 25 December. Enjoy a welcome glass of champagne as you arrive at the Palm Court, where you'll be served a festive five-course meal.
Begin with an amuse-bouche of Jerusalem artichoke soup, and starters such as Dorset crab, or roasted carrot tartare. This is followed by spiced lobster and salmon ravioli, or confit cauliflower. The traditional bronze turkey breast is available for the main course, though you could swerve tradition and opt for Swiss chard, wild mushroom and chestnut wellington; champagne poached halibut; or cep crusted venison loin instead — the choice is yours.
Traditional Christmas pudding, or a selection of British cheeses are among the dessert options, and if you've still got room after that, tea and coffee is served with warm mince pies, rounding off your Christmas Day feast perfectly.
Bookings available for 2pm or 5pm on 25 December, priced at £129 per person (50% discount for children under 12).
New Year's Eve at The Waldorf Hilton
The festivities don't end on Christmas Day, as The Waldorf Hilton is offering two ways to see in 2025 on New Year's Eve. Head to the Palm Court for the Be Our Guest Ball, an evening combining feasting and live entertainment. Tickets are £129 per person, or you can upgrade to bottomless champagne for £229.
Alternatively, for anyone looking for a wilder New Year's Eve, cocktail bar The Wild Monkey hosts a Jungle party. Enjoy a rum punch cocktail on arrival, with a DJ spinning the tunes up until midnight, and a celebratory glass of champagne as the clock strikes 12. Tickets for this one are £30 per person.
