Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope — it's aerial photographer Jason Hawkes, who has spent the last 25 years hanging out the side of helicopters around the globe, capturing incredible shots like the one above.

The aptly-named Hawkes flies over London most weeks, and has quite the bounty of breathtaking aerial photographs of the capital as a result. Here are some of our favourites from 2019.
