Camberwell Green Is Reopening

Closed since October 2015, Camberwell Green finally reopens on Saturday (16 July).

The renovation of the park — including new turf, and a playground — is part of Southwark Council’s £13m programme to improve the Camberwell area.

We love the playground's two new gates, a nod, we suspect, to the butterfly called Camberwell Beauty:

These new curving entrances add a touch of class too:

An opening party this Saturday includes live music, games, and the return of Camberwell's Urban Farmers' Market.

This morning, finishing touches are being made, including, apparently mowing the paths:

The Back to the Green party takes place on Camberwell Green on 16 July from noon-5pm. Free entry, all ages welcome
