Vehicles won't be able to cross Tower Bridge in either direction for three months from October.
The bridge will be closed from 1 October for vital repair work, including resurfacing of the road and pavements, waterproofing of the arches and rust removal.
At 122 years old, it's no surprise that the structure is in need of a bit of TLC, but those who rely on the roads around here may be peeved that the closure comes as nearby Tooley Street is also closed to traffic eastbound until 2018, due to the London Bridge station works.
Pedestrians will still be able to cross the bridge for the majority of the closure, with the exception of three weekends. The bridge will continue to open to allow river traffic to pass underneath, and the Tower Bridge Exhibition and glass walkways will remain open.
