Celebrate Den Day At RIBA

When did you last build a den?

Maybe you have ambitious den-building ideas, but always end up with the tired blanket-over-the-back-of-the-dining-chairs combo.

If it's been too long, or your dens have become uninspired, head to the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) this June for a fun-filled Den Day, dedicated to building the best dens such an institution can create.

Families and kids are invited to learn how to build their own super shelters out of everyday items. RIBA will provide all the materials, inspiration, tips and tricks to build some brilliant dens.

You can also find out about techniques used by families around the world to build life-saving temporary shelters and camps.

Den Day (17 June) is a Save The Children scheme encouraging children to build and sleep in dens and raise sponsorship money for children in the world's toughest countries, who might not have somewhere safe to sleep at night.

Save The Children’s Den Day @ Royal Institute of British Architects, 18 June, 10am to 4.30pm. £10 Entry. Royal Institute of British Architects, 66 Portland Place, W1B 1AD.
