68 buildings, including schools, libraries and cinemas, have been shortlisted for the prestigious 2016 RIBA London Awards.
Many of the buildings on the list are new, but others have been refurbished, such as the Victorian Wilton's Music Hall in Shadwell, which is shortlisted for recent restoration work.
Part of the Oratory School in Fulham has been redeveloped to provide more learning space, and the Grade I listed Royal Hospital Chelsea has been redesigned to allow it to continue to function.
Other buildings that made the shortlist include the Curzon Bloomsbury cinema, ARK All Saints Academy and Highshore School in Kennington, Regent High School, Sir John Soane's Museum, Mount Pleasant Hostel in Hatton Gardens and the Merchant Square Footbridge in Paddington.
Each of the shortlisted buildings will now be visited and judged by a jury. The winners will be announced in a ceremony at the University of Greenwich on 3 May. Winners of the London regional award will be considered for the RIBA National Award, the winner of which will be announced in June.
