What do cumulus, stratus and cirrus have to do with Tottenham?

They are all names for clouds conjured up by chemist Luke Howard, who lived at 7 Bruce Grove in Tottenham during the 19th century and earned the building the only blue plaque in Tottenham. Now a petition has been launched to save the house which is in serious need of restoration.

The building is nationally listed, but it is also on the English Heritage Buildings at Risk Register, because of its current state of disrepair.

Despite planning permission being approved in 2013, there are fears structural damage means the house won't last long enough for the interior and exterior renovations to take place.

Tottenham Civic Society has urged for planning permission to be acted on as soon as possible in order to save 7 Bruce Grove which lies within the Bruce Grove Conservation Area. It is hoped the restoration will "encourage economic regeneration of the area".

The building is one of a pair of grand Georgian townhouses. Planning permission was approved for the building to be restored to its original outward appearance and the interior converted into flats, with new homes to be built in the rear garden.
