A London Marathon With A Difference

Give your skills a real test with a 12-hour charity football marathon.

Here's a different type of London Marathon — a 12-hour football tournament, where you play against 63 other teams in a series of 20 minute games.

The Tackle Africa Football Marathon will see hundreds of London’s budding Beckhams of all abilities heading to Wormwood Scrubs Common to strap on their boots for seven games per rest period.

The event raises money for the Tackle Africa charity, which uses the popularity of football to deliver HIV education to young people on football pitches across the continent.

After beginning as a small-scale event less than a decade ago, the marathon’s popularity has continued to grow each year, and now features 64 teams hoping to make it through the group stages to the knock-out rounds.

If you fancy getting a team together for the 20 June event, there are still some places available. Register by emailing tom@tackleafrica.org or signing up on Tackle Africa’s website before the deadline of 15 May. The tournament kicks off at 8am.
