Have a go at cross stitch at Drink Shop Do

ARCHIVES: The British Library holds a day-long symposium on the topic of Archives In The Future. Panel discussions cover the likes of who owns archives and the impact of digitisation. Free, prebook, 10am-8pm

GARDEN WALK: Walk off the winter blues on a mystery tour of Kew Gardens with a volunteer guide, who will take you to their favourite places and plants. Daily until 28 February. Included in entry price, just turn up, 12pm

WINTER’S TALES: The Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespeare’s Globe puts on a series of classic stories, told by actors in the candlelit venue with live music accompaniment. Today is the turn of Daphne du Maurier’s short stories featuring The Birds, performed by Harriet Walter. Various prices, prebook, 7.30pm

HOT STORYTELLING: Heat is the theme of this month's Spark Storytelling event (for adults) at Hackney Attic. Anyone can get up on stage and share their tale. £4, prebook, 7.30pm

STITCH UP: Resolved to be crafty this year? Get your sewing and try your hand at cross stitch at Mr X Stitch's Hangout at Drink Shop Do. £5, just turn up, 7.30pm
