What started as a prank by a New York improv group — going on the subway/tube/metro system without wearing any lower outer garments — has become an international phenomenon, as we can see every year from what people are Googling to get to Londonist. On Sunday afternoon, this group of hardy souls removed their trousers and took the tube between Leicester Square and Arsenal (fnar) and back again (though as you can see from our photos, some pants wearers went rogue on the Northern line). We love the nonchalance of the unsuspecting passengers around them: 'yeah yeah, whatever, it's just London innit?'.

The chap in the rugby shirt should consider always displaying his thighs. Wow. *FansSelfToCalmDown*

And yet, sitting down, a decent percentage of them still fail to sit with their knees together.

I was on the tube with that group in the pictures. The girl in the red panties was super hot.

#ThatMoment when you actually recognize a person in this gallery. Lol - so busted.

WHY???????? What on earth does this achieve except to encourage either mockery or something worse? Just because the Americans enjoy living with stupidity surely doesn't mean the British have to follow blindly in their footsteps? And men who choose to sit with their legs wide open have obviously never enjoyed a good upbringing from parents or elders who should have taught them when young that the rest of the world really doesn't need to look at their crutch. It boils down to personal respect and that which to offer to others around you.
