Harold Pinter's macabre tragicomedy The Hothouse returned to London's West End in May to rave reviews. 'Richly pleasurable and boundlessly funny' (The Guardian), it guards Pinter's biting political commentary under a veil of devilish wit.

The play is set in a nameless asylum. It may be Christmas Day but the amoral staff find no reason to let up on their tirade of mindless cruelty against the inmates. Is no one in charge? Of course, but the maniacal and self-obsessed leader breeds this contagion of hierarchical savagery amongst his staff. Merry Christmas.

This critically acclaimed production, directed by Jamie Lloyd and starring big-name actors Simon Russell Beale and John Simm, is darkly comic and masterfully acted. But it doesn't end there. An exciting programme of extra events have been scheduled to run in conjunction with The Hothouse. Pre and post-show Q&As and panel discussions will allow you to step further into the asylum and meet the people involved in the making of the production, while theatre and Pinter lovers cannot miss Traf Takeover: Pinter Shorts.

Traf Takeover: Pinter Shorts will be performed on 27-29 June and is a fantastic chance to see two of Pinter's finest short plays, Family Voices and Victoria Station. Not only that, but Joanna Lumley, Andrew Scott and Alun Armstrong will be make up the cast and take over the set of The Hothouse for the performances.
