Club Watch Bank Holiday Special

With the UK set to be "hotter than Mallorca" this weekend (that's a big claim Guardian), it's only right to celebrate some appropriately good time sounds to suit this blissful bank holiday. Those after bass wobble and pounding techno should look elsewhere!

Friday sees a team up with classy London house label NeedWant and East London's Basing House. Ejeca is a name tipped for big things this year, the young Irish producer having collaborated with the much-loved Bicep, and crafting a similar type of classicist house build on brassy divas and skippy garage stylings. Original? Not particularly. Killer on the dancefloor? Undoubtedly. New Zealand's second most popular musical duo Chaos in the cbd will be taking the mood a touch deeper, with a warm melancholic sound that John Talabot fans will appreciate.

Saturday sees Bloc serving up a rock solid electro fest, jetting in the Nile's most eligible bachelor Egyptian Lover for some x-rated magic. The last time we were lucky enough to catch the Pharoah he played an exhaustive 2 hour singing n' scratching set, tossed t-shirts into the audience and ordered a female only stage invasion. Trying to top that will be Beverly Hills 808303, better known as the electro grandmaster I-F. As the new moniker suggests this is analogue worship at its finest, so expect some gems from the vault tonight. Alternately if you're after some snyth magic but lack the cash for the big hitters, Synthesize at the Old Shoreditch Station should hit the spot. Mister Sushi leads a free night of homage to "the sounds of all our favourite modulars" — much electronic geekery awaits!

With the "pinch me I'm dreaming" weather we've been experiencing, we can't think of a more blissed out event for Sunday than Bloc's Sunday team up with Electric Minds. Circumstances have forced the two promoters to join forces for a mammoth night at Autumn Studios. While the Berghain is a dark, industrial entity that looks like a meeting place for Mordor residents, the German club's Steffi brings an irresistible lightness of touch to her work. The Berlin native crafts effortless house gems like "Yours" and "Sadness" that would have been radio smashes in a more just universe. While the night celebrates the launch of Steffi's much anticiapated Panarama bar CD nothing beats witnessing the magic in the flesh. Alongside is Andrés, whose track "New For U" quite rightly bossed 2012. With merely a skippy-house swing and a clipped string sample it worked simple elements into a timeless, uplifting delight. Dig a little deeper though, and the Detroit producer's work shows a masterful blending of hip-hop rhythms and deeper house atmospheres. The techno team up of A Made up Sound and Cosmin TRG round off a weekend that has the makings of a classic.
