Cocktail Crawls: Destination Unknown London

A new tour package leads curious Londoners around several of the capital's smartest cocktail bars.

Destination Unknown London is put together by people with a passion for the nooks and crannies of the city. They’ll take you round some of the coolest, well hidden and noteworthy venues.

The current ‘Mind the Gap’ tour features basement bars, secret haunts and some serious cocktails. Think under-the-footfall hangouts like Freud (Convent Garden), but less mainstream, and (debatably) less rammed. Unsurprisingly, the package is proving popular with urban explorers, and the next scheduled date isn't until early December. But if you can grab seven (or more) of your friends you can pick your own date.

The best bits? It’s ridiculously well organised and simply fuss free – your tables and taxis are pre-booked, your ‘secret agent’ knows the venues like the back of their hand and will make sure you know the way back to the local Tube (this notoriously directionless Londonista was provided with a map). They’ll even get the first round in. After that, which cocktails you sample, what you eat and how long you stay out is entirely up to you.

As is the severity of your resulting hangover.

Mind the Gap Package includes a tour of three hand-picked bars, a cocktail in each bar and taxi transfers between venues for £69 per person. Other packages and bespoke and corporate events are also available.
